Marines in Europe in WW 2

Did the Marines fight in Europe or were they strictly in the Pacific theatre?

RE: Marines in Europe in WW 2

Any capital ship, cruiser or battleship or CV, had a Marine detachment aboard. If said ship came under fire the Marines aboard manned the secondary batteries and returned fire. As for those Marines ashore and fighting I've seen several stories I can't remember the gist of. Check with Leatherneck mag I believe they've run one or two of those.
