    Harper's Ferry

When the abolishionist John Brown took over Harper's Ferry Armory, LtCol Robert E. Lee was called into service by the Secretary of War. When he arrived at the Armory, he was accompanied by LtCol J.E.B. Stuart, he was greeted by 86 Marines, under the command of Lieutenant Israel Green, who marched from the Marine Barracks Washington D.C. Stuart was sent to take control of the Virginain Malitia, who's attacks against Brown, had failed time and time again. LtCol Lee negotiated with Brown, but failed to resolve the issue. Lee, leads the Green and his Marines to storm the Arsenal, and captures Brown. Brown is executed for Treasion and Insurrection.

    RE: Harper's Ferry

Tried and executed by the state of Virginia not the US. Green is said to have bent the blade of his Mameluke over ol Pottawatomie's head. It seems Marine officers prefered the US Army officer's model of sword for real combat after that.
