There seems to be confusion on how to gain access to the various private forums of Grits.
The quick and simple way is to email either Dovie or myself.

Yeti: wrculp@comcast.net (home) or william.culp@opm.gov (work) I don't read one at the other generally, so use best judgement or email them both.
We need your Logon on name and what board you need access to. If it is one of the heavy controlled boards (i.e. Member locator) access won't be granted immediately, unless we personally know you.
Example:
Subject: Board Access
Body of Email:
Username: TheYeti1775
Board: Marine Only
And remember it might not be granted immediately. I got on my computer about 2 hours this past weekend. Most of my weekend was out on a trail or with my foot elevated on the couch. Pretty sure others have a life outside of granting access here as well. Now if you don't get your access in a day or two without a response why, than ask if we are around.
The following are the Private Forums on Grit's. These forums are for folks to freely post how they wish to.
Marine Only Private Forum - To have access here, you must have served as a Marine (Active or Reserve).
E Club - otherwise known as the Joke Forum. For Access, it requires you to be 18 and realize there are "R" Rated jokes within
PTSD Forum - This is for Marines & Family Members to help with those with PTSD. This is a controlled environment and not everyone will be granted a looksee.
Political Forum - If it's political, put it here. The only moderation is with purposely misinformation or if you start personal attacks on each other.
Private Parents Forum - This is a private area for the Moms & Dads of Marines.
Member Locator/Phonebook/Calendar - Private forum for seeing if other members are around you. Heavily controlled access.
Marine Girlfriends Private Forum - Private forum for Marines' Girlfriends & Fiancees. Need to be at least 18yrs old, been a member for over 90 days and have at least 250 posts. To remain a member you need to post at least twice a month.
Marine Wives Private Forum - Private forum for Marines' Wives. Need to be at least 18yrs old, been a member for over 90 days and have at least 250 posts. To remain a member you need to post at least twice a month.
The Mommy Club - Private forum for moms to be; and those with small children.
Women's Health & Fitness Forum - private forum for the women to discuss health, diet & exercise stuff.
