    Larry Zok's Memorial Day Pics

These are Larry's pics from the wreath laying ceremony that Popasmoke does at The Wall every year. This year since he had a reunion with Michelle, who he met in Vietnam in 1970 when she was on tour as one of Dean Martin's Golddiggers, she took part in the ceremony also.

I didn't reduce these pics to message board size as that leaves out a lot of detail. So they are just a little bit larger than message board size.

Very, very nice.  I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one in a Marine kilt today.

That "Gold Digger" is a beautiful woman.  In more ways than one.  She seems to have veteran's in her heart!

And those young Marines look ready for the long fight.  God bless them all.

Popasmoke does that wreath laying ceremony every Memorial Day and Marine Corps Birthday and it seems to get better each time. This is the first time I remember them having a Color Guard and and bugler. I imagine they came from 8th and I.

The bagpipers, the big guy is Big Steve Campbell, a Gritster, Marine and Police Officer. I'm not sure but I think the Sgt with him is his nephew. I met them a few years back but I can't remember for sure if that is his nephew.

    Chris

Popasmoke has always had a Color Guard and Bugler, but back when they were dedicating the WWII Memorial, they did not have enough teams to support us and we had to use my MCL Detachment Color Guard.

Skivvy -Michelle's parents did USO Tours, so it runs in the family.  Get more info here:  www.michelleandlindsay.com

Top - No wedding Bells, she is married with a son at UF - he's a Gator!!

Chris - that is indeed Big Steve's nephew and he carried his pipes to Iraq.  I can imagine the Haji's going nuts when he started to play, not knowing what is was.

I am indeed still on Cloud 9. The wait was well worth it.

Great pictures Larry. Steve never changes. Talk about a stud, and just a great guy. Golddiggers. Man, that just triggered some memories. I only saw one USO show, and they were all from the Phillipines, playing Wipe Out behind their back and all crazy $hit like that. It was pretty wild.

Jimmy Mac, when are you comin back?

Great pictures Larry, thanks for sharing.

I couldn't wait to see the Dean Martin show just to catch a peek at those beautful Golddiggers, and she is still a great looking woman.

Our Marines young and old are looking pretty spiffy also....Flag

Good to see ole Steve.  His jurisdiction is the county I grew up in.  I'm glad to be no longer there.  Stay safe Steve!!   That nephew is a fine looking broth of a lad as well.

As for Larry and his Golddigger - dang wingers!

I'm wondering if that lady, Michelle, has ever met Ann Margaret.  They both have the same attributes.  Besides being beautiful, they continue to take care of "their Veterans".

Looking over those photos again, it seems that she's also a tall lady, comparing her to Steve.  This is a photo of Pammie with Steve in DC in 2005.  Sorry I can't remember the name of the other Marine/FBI piper with them.

Outstanding photos, Larry, and after reading your story I certainly understand why you are still on Cloud 9.  Thanks for putting the pics up for us, Chris.

    Larry,

Sorry, even though I've been a part of that ceremony before, for some reason I didn't remember a Color Guard and bugler. But these days my memory seems to come and go.

And who is that young Marine that Michelle is pictured with, just the two of them?

Duty driver for the Color Guard and Bugler.  He also took some of these photos as I was too busy calling commands to stop and take photos.

I had to wait almost 40 years to find out MY angels name; Michelle Della Fave! Cloud 9

Always had a crush on her.  Always will.
