    Question about shipping females

Hi, I'm Jessy, married to a Marine and currently in the process of enlisting. I got a call from my recruiter today regarding the next steps we will have to take and he told me, that I should switch from AD to the Reserves, because there are no ship dates for AD females at the moment. They do however ship females for the Reserves. He told me to ship out as a reservist and then once I'm done with school go active. I feel like this is a huge gamble, because in both cases I am not guaranteed a ship date until after I have gotten sworn in. So it might be that I won't get a sooner date as a reservist after all. I want to be AD and I'm just scared something will go wrong and I can't switch to AD later on. He made it seem a little too easy.

I will hopefully have a chance to talk to him about it this week and will also probably have to talk to the 1st Sgt, but I thought it might be a good idea to get advice or inside knowledge from others.

Thank you very much for all your help and advice.
