8 wood plaques, looks like oak wood, either hand painted or decals, I can't tell. They measure approx 12' wide x 13" tall. I was told they are old, not new. These were acquired from an estate of a Navy man. $799 for all 8 pieces, plus shipping.

What does the lettering mean, ie VS, VP, VF? Does it stand for: submarine, patrol, fighter...?
