    Mailing/Shipping Time...

I have a question regarding mailing/shipping time.  Our youngest son, Kris, is a Corpsman of Marine with 1st Bat/2nd Marines currently in Iraq.  We have sent him several letters and the letters seem to get there fairly quickly - usually in about a week or so.  We have sent packages - USPS "Flat Rate - $8.10 per box - and we don't have any clear indication of whether or not he has received them.  Two have been in transit for about a month now.  The post mistress we have doesn't seem to have a clue about the length of time.  Does any one here, have any experience or feel for how long these are taking?  They are going to Kris' APO address if that helps.  We appreciate the help.

My husband has been getting his packages (flat rate size as well) in a week and a half.  Letters take nearly 3 weeks for us.  So, it seems as if your letters are getting to your son quicker.  I'm not sure....my husband is in Fallujah though.

I've been told from my post master that it takes 5 days to get to the address then after it's over there, it's up in the air. All of the packages I've sent my husband have taken 2 weeks exactly.
