    Dust free Drywall sanding

Many many many years ago I was working for a cancer research outfit. Many times we had to put up walls and reconfigure the rooms. I was assigned to help with the sanding of the drywall mud. I go get the sanding poles and the paper for it. Well the guy looked at me and asked what I was doing with that equipment. He told me that we could not raise any dust. He then showed me the trick to do it. After the drywall mud dries you take a bucket of luke warm water and a organic spunge. You put the spunge into the water and squeeze most of the water out leaving the spunge moist. Wipe the mud till you have it as smooth as a baby's buttom. This way does take longer but it will be totally dust free. This is a good way to "sand" in your home and saves a lot of clean-up.

Great tip, Mule!!!!!!! I have a cathedral beamed ceiling with the popcorn surface I want to get rid of. I have thought about wetting it and while it's wet, just wiping off the popcorn. Have to do it in sections, big royal pain and on a ladder, yet. This house is going to kill me.I just hope I'm finished with it before the wake!
