Due to family circumstances and other matters associated with them I am 18 and a sophomore in High School. One of the people from my Job told me about a Military school paid for by the government that takes 6 months to complete and upon completion I would receive a High school Diploma. My recruiter told me that this would be accepted only as a GED by the USMC and that this would lead to a very limited selection of MOS'. Anyway my questions are 1) what is the probablity of making it into the Corps with a GED? 2) What MOS' would be available (or if it's easier which ones wouldn't)?

I know Recruiters are very busy so in advance thank you for your time and response.

    Re: GED

    Evan-

Where I work, we are allowed a 5% ratio of GED applicants.  That is 1 for 20.  By the MPPM, a tier 2 (GED) applicant has to score higher on the the ASVAB to get less.  That is the nature of the beast.  The only way around it is that if you have 15 college credits in addition to a GED, then you are considered Tier 1 (high school grad).
