    Yes [Y] Wives Forum Rules

    Locked Reply Contact

    1. Follow the OPSEC rules set forth by the Department of Defense. I have read and understand the OPSEC rules and agree to follow them for my own safety as well as the safety of all Marines. I understand that if I break OPSEC guidelines on the boards, my post may be edited. This includes any information about dates, estimated dates, or date ranges of ANY troop movements including deployment or movement during deployments, specific locations of Marines deployed to overseas locations, and specific job duties of Marines deployed to overseas locations . This includes any information posted in signatures and/or tickers. You may post the month or time frame, but no specific dates or date ranges. Please do not post ANY contact or personal information about any Key Volunteer on any forum or pass on any information about KV via e-mail through Grunt.com. You can refer to your KV, but please do not identify them in any manner.

    2. Advertisements for competing sites and solicitations for interviews, members, or sales is NEVER allowed on ANY part of the board, including in profiles and signatures. If I am unsure about my advertisement being allowed on the board, I agree to contact an administrator or a moderator for clearance PRIOR to posting it. I understand that my advertisement or link can be deleted if deemed inappropriate. Competing sites include any site that sells any of the same type of merchandise as our host site,
www.grunt.com. Any posts that advertise another forum, board, or website containing competing merchandise will be deleted.

    3. I agree to create my posts using as close to proper English language as I can and not the shortened version of internet slang lingo that is commonly used in IM conversations. I will type "How are you?" instead of "How r u", tomorrow instead of 2moro, etc...
www.spell-check.net is a helpful tool for this. I agree to post using proper punctuation, grammar, and capatalization and not create my post as one long run on sentence. You are all adults and we expect that you will conduct yourselves in that matter and speak like one.

    4. If you are under 18 yrs. of age and your Marine or recruit is over 18 yrs. of age, and you are not married, please refrain from discussing contact between the two of you that can be interpreted as sexual in nature, this extends to your personal websites as well if you plan on posting a link here such as a xanga or mypace site. Remember he is a Marine or trying to be one, he has a whole new, and higher, set of standards to adhere to, it's called the UCMJ. Uniform Code of Military Justice. Be smart and safe. Protect yourself and your Marine.

    5. I agree to keep private conversations private and conduct them using Instant Messengers or via email. I will never post a private conversation from an email or IM without the permission of every party involved in the conversation.

    6. I understand that sometimes a topic can get out of hand and I know that when this happens the topic may be locked at the moderator's discretion. If a topic is locked or deleted, it becomes a private matter. Conversations conducted through IM's are private and not subject to forum guidelines unless they are proven to harm the site (solicitation of other sites or any attempt to convince members to leave to another site is considered harmful) or contain physical threats of violence to another member. I understand that if instances of solicitation or harmful conduct is reported, the Administration has an obligation to investigate it and I may receive a warning, be suspended or be banned because of it. Under no circumstances will I post a new thread with the same or similar subject, nor will I post a thread debating the reason for topic being locked or bringing into question the moderators abilities or the reason for warnings or bannings of other members. I will ask any questions I have or bring up any concerns privately.

    7. This is a PG rated forum. Be smart and use your best judgement. The admins reserve the right to edit and/or delete any material deemed not appropriate. They make the call and it will not be questioned.

    8. The moderators, administrators and web site owner reserve the right to remove and/or edit any post, forum or topic at any time they deem there is a violation of the rules without notice.

    9. Private forums contain private matter.  Never is a topic from the private forums to be discussed in the open forum.  Violation of this rule will result in the lost of Private forum posting priveleges.  No Exceptions!

And last but not least, this message from our gracious host:

Welcome Marines and friends of Marines. Please maintain a level of respect for others and language integrity that is expected of Marines in a public forum. Remember HONOR, COURAGE, COMMITMENT. For those of you who can't remember this, I reserve the right to zap you.
