    Old Smell Haiku

old folks don't smell well old folks don't smell well enough to know if they smell

Generally Haiku is a Japanese art form of poetry consisting of three lines with no punctuation. The first and third lines have five syllables each, and the second line has seven syllables. In addition the best Haiku has the first two lines pointing in a particular direction, with the third line as the kicker, although it is sometimes the other way around, meaning the first line is the kicker, with the next two lines pointing back to it. That is a generalization. I wrote another similar Japanese style haiku for my dad's obituary,

Ode To A Great Man Small in stature to the world was your size; Great were your steps to your sons, in their eyes. Fine were the hours in the dream of your family; Now you've used all the days of your life, But the memory rushes on.

    Respectfully, Gunny T sends
