How many Commandants served as E-Tools?
How many CMCs served as Enlisted Men in the USMC, and then later were Commissioned 2d Lieutenants? Also, who were they?[;)]

LtCol Anthony Hale Gale (4th CMC) was the only CMC to be fired! He was only CMC for one year, 1819-1820. Irish born.....drunk![:D]

General Wilson enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and was commisioned about 6 months after that, so he might count.
General Pate was enlisted in the Army for a little while before going to VMI.

Ooooops, Robert H. Barrows(1979-1983).......Wm W. Burrows was 1798-1804.[:D]
