Update on ReferMech - a.k.a. IronMike

Michael was able to send me an email to let us know that he's ok. He also sent a link to an article where he and two other 9th comm Marines were interviewed. Doesn't exactly look like AC work to me Surprise. He's a gunner on a Humvee for the time being! But, remember when "IronMike" wanted to be a tanker? Well, this is right up his alley I suppose!

Go to www.nctimes.com and type stillfried into their search engine.

He sounds like he's in good spirits, and that morale in his unit is good.

He's part of the new policy of "every Marine into the fight".  ALL Marines do combat patrols. Even my old MOS of Supply Admin.

He remains, as always, in my prayers.  I hope you get him home in one piece, and healthy, and just as coc ky as he used to be.

There is no "I" in "team", but there are four of them in "platitude-quoting idiot."

I think Michael will always be a teeny bit cocky, although he has matured quite a bit since he was a regular on the poolie forum. Boot Camp and his first depolyment grew him up a bit! He's excited this time to earn his Combat Metal; he didn't leave Camp Fallujah last time.

Thanks for your prayers, they are always appreciated!

We always keep Mike in our prayers, he's one of the regulars.  We wouldn't recognize him if he wasn't cocky.

There it is, Kathy.  My best to the Marine!!  He's got a big moniker to live up to.  Hope he does well and comes home safe.

Thanks for the update and it is good to know that Mike is doing well.

If he weren't cocky and self-assured, he wouldn't be a Marine!

I hope that he comes back to the Forum when he gets back to CONUS, we miss him.
