    Peace Officers Memorial Day

REMINDER: FLY FLAGS AT HALF STAFF ON MAY 15, PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY A fitting tribute to the more than 18,000 law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice throughout U.S. history

"While I live in dread of the dreams and memories of times and places long ago; the bonds we forged as brothers can never be forsaken. We fought not for God, country or Corps..... We lived and died for each other".

Cops have hearts of blue. Marines have hearts of green.  On the surface they are the same.  Brothers and sisters in arms, ready to defend freedom from those who would take it away from the inocent and weak.

18,000 doesn't sound like much when spread over 200 and some years of US history. But it still tells the tale of brave men and women who are willing to put themselves between Good and Evil. EGA

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone else’s blood and I have no problem with going out the same way.

My father is a police officer in Washington State, I'm really proud of him and all other officers, especially those who have died on the line of duty.

My Grandfather's older brother on my father's side of the family is one of the 18,000 who died in the line of duty(Aug of 1918, Cincinnati, Ohio).
He is listed on the City's Memorial for fallen officers.

I would be proud too.  Please give him my personal "thank you" for his service to his community. And thank the Lord there are men like him (and us). Salute
