    POZ BEING OVERRUN!

    Here's a post Ernie will like. My female Golden Retriever, Melanie, had 12 puppies Sunday. All healthy little guys--actually six guys, six gals. I've got her in a big whelping box I made in the kitchen. Yesterday, I went outside for 15 minutes and when I came in to look in the box, they were GONE! Melanie and all the pups--gone. I looked all over and finally found them in my oldest son's closet. I moved them all back, but it freaked me out.

    I figure this is instinctive for her..I'm guessing it's like a Combined Action Platoon...moving to a new poz every 8 hours, staying mobile to avoid detection.

    Now I'm going to buy an emergency resupply of Killians...now that I'm a Grampaw.

    That's a huge litter.  Is that common in Goldens?

    And by the way, Congrats Gramps!!!

    Al, that's just her Motherly Instinct kicking in.  There's nothing you'll have to show her; she already knows it !

    I hope the following photo shows.  Our female Hybrid Wolf gave birth to 4 pups on my wife's birthday, December 12th, around 9PM.  Checking her the next morning, we found 4 additional !

    The weather had been in the 60s then and a cold spell was moving in, with the forecast of 20* overnight.  I brought an old comforter to the "den" and wrapped it around the litter.  Before nightfall, Momma had taken charge !  Unbelieveable !

    YEP !  There are 8 pups in that "stack", all with their little heads pointed away from the wind !

    It should be showing now.

    Puppies are always so wonderful.  Congrats to both Grampaws.

     As the dog's would say;

    "Woof, woof! Arf. AARoo Roo Roo Roo, [snort, sneeze, sniff].

    There is no "I" in "team", but there are four of them in "platitude-quoting idiot."
