I was wondering you ladies could spare some good thoughts Ross's way this morning. In about an hour he has a phone interview for a federal police job in Maine. This is the best offer he has received because of the benefits that come with a federal job. I'm really anxious to know how everything goes. He still has an app. with the Vermont State Police but if they offer him this job he is going to take it. If within 4 years this isn't something he is progressing in he wants to apply to the NYS Police (they only open the application process once every 4 years). But for now this seems right for our family. Once he calls me i'll let you guys know how everything went. :o)

Well, he just got off the phone with one of the men who work there. He was in the Corps and got out in 93 so he was VERY supportive and helpful. He said Ross's resume looks awesome and that he is qualified for the job (who knew his crappy job in MD would pay off! haha) but he has to run it up his chain of command. Everything works a lot like the military except he can do overtime/vacation. So he doesn't have the job yet but it's looking VERY promising. Everything just has to run up to a CO in Maine and then it goes to Pennsylvania and then Virginia and back to Maine where are HR person will call Ross and let him know if he got it. He said he has a very good chance because they are very short staffed and need guys desperately. We will be getting around the same pay we are now so at least it's not a pay cut. Also, the cost of living there is VERY inexpensive so the guy he talked to said your best bet is to buy a house out here. Apparently him and his wife have one with ten acres of land and an acre pond for fairly inexpensive. Definately awesome news. Sooo now we play the waiting game, again.

Ross will be in my prayers. I hope he is able to tell you some good news after the interview.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear thigns went well, it sounds like you have something to look forward to after the MC! I know how scary it must be thinking about Ross getting out, so I'm glad things are coming together for the future!! Good luck!!!

Trust me I know how stressful it can be when your husband is getting ready to get out especially with kids & wanted a job with health insurance(just going through that part alone with applying to a million jobs & not hearing back..).. etc... it's can be a lot & be very draining, just stay positive & know it will all work out...
