    Painting a pillowcase?

Has anyone ever painted/decorted a pillowcase before and sent it over?

I'm sending D some pillows and I wanted to paint/decorate one pillowcase.

One of my questions is how does the decorations/paint hold up? Do they fade or rub off? Or does this depend on the kind of paint?

I'm not doing anything fancy....Christian's hand print and foot print. My hand print and a certaing saying...for word saying, and It will also have an "I LOVE YOU"

If you use fabric paint, it should hold up fairly well, as long as you use thin lines of paint that are somewhat flat to the pillowcase instead of raised.  The flat lines will be more comfortable for him to sleep on and less likely to peel up.  (Make sure to put something inside the pillow---wax paper maybe, so that the two sides of the pillow don't stick together)

Ok, cool. I think that's all I need to know really. I'm excited to give it a try this weekend!

Thanks for the advice because I didn't even think about putting something inbetween the pillow so it doesn't leak through!

I actually made a mission pillow for my Marine and it was such a big hit that I'm make about one a week for the guys over there. What I do is make then quilt style with pictures of their loved ones. So, for my Marine I put one picture of me sleeping and another one of me on the day we got engaged. I allow the guys to pick what colors they want. It's been a huge hit with the guys...it's like sending a photo ablum in a different way. If you sew you could do that, if not you could find someone that does sew!
