    Slideshow

I'm going to make a video/slideshow to music and I have no idea which songs to use...any suggestions?

    Re: Slideshow

My friend did a slideshow at her reception.  It was separated into 3 sections - the first section was all pictures of her (and her friends/family growing up) and a song to match (maybe "American Girl" by Trisha Yearwood, or something like that???); the 2nd set was her hubby (and family/friends growing up) with a coordinating song; and the 3rd set was a song about a couple and all the pictures were them together.

I'm not going to lie - as a guest at the reception, it was a little long and dragged out...but it was cute.  And it was fun when my 4th grade self showed up in a few of the pictures - and I felt like I knew a lot more about her hubby after seeing pictures of him growing up.

If you want a shorter version with just one song, I'd suggest "What a Wondeful World" by Louis Armstrong.

Ohh cute idea Court! My suggestion woudl be to just have it playing in the background while the guests are eating. That way, if people want to watch they can, but it's not mandatory and it doesn't take away from their time to mingle with other people, dance, eat, etc. I don't even know if you would need music then, maybe just have the DJ play some light music in the background? Or, have him play "your song" with Chris, his favorite song, and your favorite song?

Have fun, you are so good with this stuff!

If you think it might be too long for people to sit there and watch at the reception; what if you do it at the rehersal dinner when everyone is sitting down. I went to a rehersal dinner for a Marine's wedding that did this and it was really cute! They turned the lights out for the slideshow and everthing. I thought it was a great idea!

Tim and I did this at our wedding!

I did the 3 section thing.

For both my and Tim's baby pics/growingup, I used the song "Then They Do" by Trace Adkins

For the ones of both of us, I used Big and Rich's "Lost in This Moment".

We played ours while we were taking pictures after the ceremony (Since our ceremony and reception were at the same venue!)..it seemed to work out pretty good!

Thanks ladies! I was actually out grocery shopping this morning and this song came on my iPod, Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic" and oh my gosh...the words say, "and when that fog horn blows, I'll be coming home." And it talks about when we were born and so on...I think I might use it! That way it kind of does the three parts...us growing up, then him in Iraq and him coming home! Here's a youtube video with the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVLhoIHggbw&feature=related

    Re: Slideshow

My Brother made me a slideshow for my wedding. For the pictures of me growing up with my friends, he used "girls just wanna have fun" and for Mick's, he used "Proud to be an American" and at the end of the slide show where it says "God Bless the USA", he put apicture of MIck and one of our buddies that got KIA in Iraq last July, so that part made everyone tear up. All the guys had to walk out of the room for a minute after that one :-(   and then for both of us together he used "Why do fools rush in" because everyone told us we were rushin things, but we didnt care cuz we knew it was right!!!  haha needless to say it was an emotional lil clip! haha

Courtney, we are actually in the process of putting ours together. What we plan to do is while the wedding party is still in the church taking pictures we will have the video running at the reception area so that our guests will have something to do to occupy their time. We will ahve appetizers and things for them to much on while they wait. We are doing the three section thing. Jimmy and I are still not positive about which songs we will do for each of our lives growing up ("Today I met the Boy I'm Gonna Marry" is a huge possibility for him, and "My Girl" is what we'll prolly go for with mine). What we do know for sure is that we are using the song "Feels like Home" for our 'together' pictures. Best of luck with your slideshow. Smile

    Re: Slideshow

We played a short slideshow "during" our wedding ceremony since our ceremony was fourty five minutes long we broke it up  for a few minutes to show the two of us growing up and then some of the things we did together. It was really quite cool. Oh and we used "then they do" by trace adkins and "young"? by kenney chesney
