    Enlistment Code

    I asked this in the 'Ask the Recruiter' forum but then looked and saw that there wasn't much activity on that board.  My question is:  Is there still such a thing as the UZ Enlistment Code and can you still sign a contract with it?  My recruiter hadn't heard about it so he said he would investgate it further. When I saw him next he told me that the UZ Code is no longer in use.  I see other recruits saying they have indeed sign with a UZ Code, is my recruiter misinformed???

    Thanks,

    Ryan H.

    Re: Enlistment Code

    This is an esoteric question that is for specialists.  If you don't trust your recruiter's answer go to the next senior Marine in the RSS and get his advise and so on up the line until you are satisfied with the answer you get.  No one will hold your hand in the fleet or anywhere else in the Corps.  Help yourself first.

    Most likely your Recruiter's RSS doesn't have a quota for it, so they will attempt to fill what they do have quotas for.

    What are you trying to get?

    TheYeti1775;

    Thanks for the response.  I am going in as 03XX, if I meet all the qualifications I would just like to have the UZ code to know I will have a chance at trying out for the 0321.  And no, there are no openings yet for 03XX, still waiting.......

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Re: Enlistment Code

    UZ is Recon.  The programs come out every Oct 1 (fiscal year), and the limited number of UZ's were gone by OCT 20, it is not for the faint of heart, and is normally given to guys that have college under their belt and are tri-atheletes.  So Ryan, the program is closed for this year.  Your recruiter should have information on Recon, and the current process for getting into BRC.  Ask him.
