I knew they were holding you.  That means you were quailified to enlist in February but they had you swear in in March since they didnt need your contract to make thier monthly mission.  I hope to heck you got a bonus for enlisting also .... anyway, you will leave before August, you should be getting a call any day now,  people are always missing thier ship dates and the recruiters will be scrambling to fill thier shipping numbers and you will be sitting there ready to go..... I hope you are working out, you may be in San Diego next week.

I am sure your drill instructors would be happy to help you celebrate your birthday... If you like I can arrange for you to have cake and pony rides around the depot.

Try to get May 12, thats when I ship out, for SD it'll be fun, kinda like a party except there are angry men there waiting to make your life miserable.

I forgot to tell you guys what we did Wednesday...Our recruiters had us unofficially sworn in at a Colorado Eagles game (if you guys dont know them they are our semi-pro hockey team). It was at the Budweiser Event Center on center ice and in front of about 10,000 people. Everyone went nuts for us. It made me feel extremely proud of the decision that I made. Just thought Id let you guys know.

Kid, just remember to keep that feeling, when you are standing alone and far from away from home.
