Having a Y chromesome I have no insight as to what a good MOS for a woman would be. However, if you'd like to mix it up and maybe get to kick some butt you might look into Military Police. Where do your interests lie? Most of the MOS's open to women are administrative in nature I believe. Though maybe some of our Marines of the double XX persuasion would be able to fill you in on that. You might want to do another post especially asking for WM help.
As for the recruiter dong a job on your enlistment there isn't much you can do. Ask to speak with the NCOIC of the recruiting (sub)station and explain to that NCO that you've been dealt a sh*tty hand and would like to get some good mojo before you sign up. If you get no help there you can go up the chain to the recruiting station and then to the district (I think that's the overall command). I'll try to contact one of the senior retired Marines who was involved in recruiting aa most of her later career prior to retirement and get her to take a look-ssee and chime in.

Well my first choice for my MOS was MPA i think, it is called the media option. And i asked my recruiter if i was still qualified for it because he told me I needed a 50 on my asvab and i got a 48. And he was like "yeah your totally qualifed" and well im not. And I actually talked to someone and they took care of me! And I might be doing the legal option or even combat photography. But i have also thought about MP too, but not totally positive.
My interests are obviously photography and media, but I am wanting to go into law for college to be an attorney.
*And thank you for your help, I am going to go talk to the NCO about not doing his job. THANKS!!!! :)

First all if you want to succeed quite thinking in terms of I'm a female what jobs would be good for me.
Cause my first response will be in the kitchen making me some fvcking cookies. And I'll be polite and not say the other response I would have if you make it into my beloved Corps.
As far as the ASVAB, yes there are waviers, best option though is to re-take the ASVAB. If you score significantly higher they might consider you for the Media Option.
Talk to the SNCOIC about your concerns, they are willing to help you. It's their job to ensure the Marines under them are doing their job as well.
Congrats on the improvements you have made so far weight/pft requirements, keep up the good work.

To Theyeti1775...
I already looked into re-taking the asvab and i cannot retake it unless its either 30 days after graduation (which i ship off june 16th) or if i take a discharge and enlist in another branch i believe.
And I know about the waviers but i was off by 7 points for the MOS and that is too much for them to wavier.
And yes you are right about thinking that way and truthfully i dont think that way because I am actually more athletic than most of the guys im my pool... and i know i can probably be a better marine than half of them too. but I know jobs are limited to females so that was the terms i was talkin in.
And i am simply just a poolie looking for answers and asking questions and not for smartass answers. I know you are a Marine and i respect you to the fullest but i was not disrespectful in anyway so i expect you not to be disrespectfull either especially when you are someone i would look up too.
And thanks for the congrats and i WILL continue on the hard work and excel in everything i do!
Thanks again :)

1.Ask for a criteria waiver for your ASVAB Scores so that you can qualify for the Media Program. 2. Find out what other programs you are eligible for with your scores - I would need to know all of your scores, not just your GT. These include, EL/CL/MM. 3. Open Program is sometimes a good thing. MOS's become available while you are in recruit training that no-one else can take because they are on a guaranteed program already. Keep in mind that Poolees enlist for a PROGRAM that usually contains several MOS possibilities, with NO guarantee as to which MOS you will be trained in, if you are on an Open Program, you can get placed in any available MOS you are qualified for. PLUS, on Parris Island the Marines at Recruit Liaison Section can get you into just about any MOS because they are the ones that grant the waivers~

Good job on your PT scores so far. Keep it up, the DI's dont screw with the squared away recruits as much as they do the slugs. The more you can do to be prepared before you go the better off you will be. Study what you can, and max out your hang and crunches, run your butt off too.

You should still talk to the NCOIC and find out if there is anything you can do to improve your waiver process. He will know how to help you. I realize that you are new to all of this, but the folks here in this forum are here to help. Try to get out of the mindset that there are 'girl jobs' . There are very few MOS's that women cant get into due to Federal Law, but you are first and foremost going to be a Marine, the MOS is just something to do between firing your weapon.

I think this quote sums up your job perfectly "OH. MY. GOD! FVCK Did you see that?!?!?! HOLY SH!T! That was AWESOME"
But you also didn't have the an attitude of what can I do as a woman, did you?
And btw... I just made 3 dozen peanutbutter / whitechocolate cookies to bring to work tomorrow....
This is just cruel. Heather did make some Peanut Butter Cookies with the Hershey kisses the other night. I ate a bunch of them, and apparently in the middle of the night Brandy (dog) decided they would be a yummy midnight snack.

Well at least you have some backbone and can take in stride. The fact that you can post calmly even when upset by another's post bodes well for your future. Now remember to capitalize Marine each time (see the bold italized underline)
As far as looking up to me, you will see looking through all my posts I believe firmly in tough love. The quickiest way to failure is to believe you are limited in any way. I will tell you like it is, just like most of the Marines on here will. No sugarcoating (unless you are baking cookies) of it.
Now take definite heed to what Top tells you, she was a Career Recruiter and knows her stuff when it comes to this type of thing. In this field she is what we call the Resident Expert.
Now as far as being better then the other wannabe maggots in your pool, why is that. Are you not driving them to excel as well as yourself? Two ways through boot camp. Unnoticed or just excel and lead. Start learning to lead now, and I bet it pays off down the road.
Maybe if your lucky, I'll be nice to you after Graduation.

Thank you so much for the advice! And the reason i say i will be a better Marine than half of them is because none of them push themselves to strive further... and I do. I even push them to work harder especailly when we have pool functions!
And I am trying to be a leader, and my goal is to hopfully get honor grad at boot camp. I know its a hard and tough goal, but i set high standards for myself and motivate myself to become better everyday!

Alright Sarah3208 you now have the info which will probabaly see you through the begining of your career in our, not yours yet, Corps. Yetti was correct in calling you on the mindset you first exhibited "jobs for girls" kind of thing. While I have my arguments with the idea of women forward enough to participate in combat it is the case now that the Corps has jobs open which will get you there. You will be a Marine, period. Good luck and don't take no for the first answer until you satisfy yourself that the case has run its course. Top has passed you the good gouge and you'll have to run with it. Figure out how to get those other poolies to put out the max and you'll figure out leadership. First principal of leadership is lead by example. Many can talk the talk but not all walk the walk. Do it and then sell it to the others by your doing.
Dangit Burke, one t only one t in Yeti.
And my view of women in the Military is more archaic than yours by far. I just attempt to not allow it to cloud the judgement center of the BHG when doling out advice.
I need a cookie.
