Today Jordan called me to tell me that he got off work early today and he he wanted me to come out to 29 cause he had something planned for us to do tonight. So I got dressed and walked out to my car, and it is GONE. My first though was, oh my God, my car was stolen. So I walked to the leasing office which was closed. There was a number on the door of a towing company so I decided to call it to rule out that it might have been towed, and they had my car!

They said that it was towed from #20 (which is my spot) and that if I want to dispute that I have to wait until Monday. Meanwhile, I am going to have to pay them $400 to get it out, which I just can't fork over right now. I asked them how they can just tow a car, and they said that the complex had to authorize it! They assigned my spot to someone else!!!!! I am shaking as I type this, I am so mad. I feel like they stole my car. No one from this complex will return my call, so now I am out my car, and about $400. If I don't get my car back tonight and this money back on Monday, there is going to be hell to pay. Thanks for the rant.

Oh my gosh, Marissa!! I can't believe they did that to you! I would be SO mad, which I'm sure you are...Do you have the number to anyone's cell (management) for the apartment? I know ours are really bad about returning calls too though..Please give me a call if you need anything and I'd be more than happy to help you out.

That is so messed up.  I can't believe they can tow a car just like that. I hope that everything works out for you, and stay on them until you get that money back!

I would be so mad.  Isnt there like an after hours number for the apt people or something you can call?  I would get your car back ASAP because they probably charge you more by the day to store it.  I hope you get your car soon.

Oh my gosh Marissa, I would be livid too!! I am so sorry that your weekend isn't turning out the way you hoped. I really hope these people step up and work with you to get the car back, without having to cough up a small fortune. I can't believe them! Keep us posted!  

omg!! i would be sooooooooooo mad. that's ridiculous. i am so sorry. i'm glad it wasn't stolen though because then you'd probably never get it back!

im so  sorry marissa!! you have every right to be mad at them! that is just ridiculous, and they better give you your money back!! hope everything works out

Ohhh Marissa.... I KNOW EXACTLEY how you feel.... This happened to my best friend when we were at college.... I mean the same thing... her car was towed from HER parking place because the complex double rented her spot!!!!!!!!! SHE was LIVID too... and so was I.... I am SO SORRY you are having to deal with crap like this when all you wanted to do was go see your hubby!!!!!!!

I hope you get everything straighted out.... what a bunch of $*@&!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Oh Marissa, I really hope everything works out for you.  What a crappy thing to happen after getting such good news from Jordan.  I'll pray everything works out in the end.  So sorry that happen to you.

Whaaat??? I would be mad about that too.....try to call the complex owner on monday and tell him that it is not your fault. The 400$ are a little stinky bit too much.

OH my gosh!! Seriously/?! I'd be SOO mad!! And of course it happens on a dang weekend when no one is conviently avalible to talk to huh?! What BS!! 

 That is HORRIBL! Oh my gosh I can't believe this happened.  This just adds to why apartment living scares me :(

Oh wow Marissa, I'm so sorry. I would breaking some knee caps is someone towed my vehicle like that. I hope this all gets worked out for you girl. Let me know if you need anything, I'm not too far away.

Ok so let me get this straight - The apartment complex assigned your spot to someone else..??? And they didn't contact you about it? IE, no letter in the mail, no one from management contacting you..??? If they didn't take the steps to contact you, then THEY need to reimburse you. And when you finally get in contact with someone from your apartment complex threaten them with getting base legal (Ie, JAGG) involved. See how quickly they start two stepping to fix things and make them right.

I'm sorry that your weekend didn't turn out the way that you wanted it too... Hopefully you get this resolved quickly. Keep us updated sweetie!!!

What in the heck! I would flip a lid!!

So one of Jordan's friends took me to get my vehicle out of the impound lot, and I had to pay the full amount. I was pissed, but it wasn't their fault. So this morning, I went to the leasing office, and she told me that one of the new managers had assigned my spot to a new tennant, and they didn't contact me because there was a mix up and they didn't know it was my car...whatever.

I asked them if I was going to get reimbursed for the full amount, and she said that she was going to "try" to get me the full amount back tomorrow once she talks to her manager. I have a feeling that they will just go ahead and write me a check, and say sorry for the mix up, but if they don't we're gonna have serious problems. Ugh...totally ruined my weekend.

Well girl, I'm glad you have your car back and you BETTER have a $400 check in hand tomorrow. Someone should inform this new manager that he/she should check the records first and make dang sure that there is no one already in that spot. I hope everything goes smoothly from here!

Ugh, I'm glad you got the car back but I'm sorry you had to go through that hassle! I agree with Ash, someone needs to let that manager know what's up and get you your money back!!

That is a big load of I would KILL the apartments for pulling this stunt and have them discount rent for the next month to reconcile.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you hun! That stinks BIG time! I would be so pissed off about that! gggrrrr! One of the reasons I'm worried about living in an apartment complex! Did u get ahold of the office today and get that check for the full amount hun?!
