LtsLady:Tell me again where you got married? I know in LaJolla, but was that a bed and breakfest in the beginning? I am soooo jealous of your very intimate personal day! That is exactly something I would love to have! Who are the others that were there with you that day? Sorry for the questions! Your pictures are gorgeous!!
ETA- What are you guys doing with the big vase and the sand?
Yes, we stayed at the Bed & Breakfast Inn at La Jolla (http://www.innlajolla.com/) for the night before and night of the wedding. That was actually a present from my Mom's best friend who had her honeymoon there. Then we just walked a few blocks down to Cuvier Park, right on the water. We...well, really I...was afraid that it would be sad without our parents there having such a small wedding, but we actually ended up loving it. It was so personal that way, and we have a video, and my mom was on speakerphone for the ceremony lol. If you saw in the pictures the minister was holding a cell phone.
My sister flew out from college in NY for the wedding, and Patrick's best friend flew out from grad school in Atlanta and surprised us. Apparently my sister had given him all the details, and he just walked into the inn the night before the wedding! It was crazy and wonderful to have him.
As to the sand, it's kind of the equivalent of the union candle. It's supposed to represent 2 becoming one, and we thought it would be a great souvenir from the wedding. The vase was supposed to be engraved, but Things Remembered was mysteriously closed the day before the wedding...and yes, I was doing things last minute lol.
