    Attendant Gifts

Got any fun, unique, (slightly inexpensive) ideas for gifts for my bridesmaids and Tim's groomsmen?  Any great ideas you've given; or you've gotten or your man's gotten?  Thanks!

I planned to spend about $50 apiece on my bridesmaids, because there's only three of them, and I've known them all practically since birth. So I bought them monogrammed tote bags, a charm bracelet, and a small, silver jewelry box. I got all their things monogrammed with the first name or first initial... since none of them are married yet, but will be, I didn't want to use their maiden names.

Matt isn't sure what he's getting his groomsmen yet. From the weddings he's been in, he's gotten beer mugs, a monogrammed keychain knife thing (lol I don't know), and a fancy schmancy Marines-authorized flashlight.

for the bridesmaids (3): 12 month subscription to Cosmopolitan Mag. simple black frame from IKEA with an envelope in the frame with their name on it. In the envelope i wrote a sweet note saying thank you for everything, love you etc etc. I also told them that i would print them a picture to put in their frame of them and me at the wedding.

for the groomsmen: they each got a flask set. it was a traveling one. it wasnt a personal gift because we weren't as close to them any more.

for the Marines: Each Marine got a goodie bag and a gift under $25. their gifts were: for the guy that loves his D12 camera: a remote control so he can snap pics from his tri-pod. For the bad-ass: throwing knives, for the BBQ chef: smoker boxes and a custom Brand for his steaks with his initials, for the motorcycle rider: a nice balaclava for the cold days, for the coffee junkie: a french press thermos.

    =)

    Re: Attendant Gifts

I got all my bridesmaids the jewelry they would be wearing at the wedding and made sure it was nice enough that they could wear again any time they dress up.  I made sure it wasnt too over-the-top that they could only wear it to weddings or balls and what not, but anytime they go to a nice restaurant or something like that. I also got them each a bottle of lotion from Victoria's secrets.   I think it came to about $45-50 each.  My maid of honor got the same things plus an extra $25 to VS to get whatever they want. I wanted to them engraved jewelry boxes too, like one of the other girls said, but since I was already getting them their jewelry, it woulda been too expensive to do both on my budget.  I think Mick got all his groomsman money clips with their initials engraved on them.  and his best man got a nice glass mug with a nickname he had for him in high school or something on it.  I've seen guys get their groomsman..i think they are called gerbers(sp) or something.. those little things that have like a pocket knife, a bottle opener,  a wine bottle opener (for the cork.. the spiral looking thing haha know what i mean??) I dunno. they are nifty little gadgets with a bunch of stuff on them haha! sorry I know i'm confusing.  Um.. for  my flower girl, I got her jewelry and a little flower girl t-shirt and a tote with her name on it in pink and a couple little toys.  my ring bearers (my two nephews) i got them a little football that said "ring bearer" on it and they each got mini etch-a-scetches and some candy and other goodies haha  hope that helps a little!

I just read a really cute idea to get your bridesmaids clutches or purses they can use during the wedding (and hopefully again after).  I think I'm going with black bridesmaids dresses as well, so hopefully they can use them again.  I love the jewelry idea too as long as it's something they'll wear again - I'm all for re-use lol.  <p> I don't think Patrick's thought of ideas for the groomsmen yet....but we're sending the best man at our little wedding a really nice bottle of wine that I know he'll enjoy, and a photo of all 4 of us at the ceremony.
