Awww. This is a cute post, Faith. Getting a jump on things, huh? LOL.
Let's see. I had my hands done the day before the wedding at 10am...the place doesn't take appointments on weekends and they open at 10am. :) That way, I wouldn't be worried about wet nails on the day of the wedding.
That night we had the rehearsal dinner (we actually had the rehearsal the Thursday prior because of the schedule provided by the venue, but my brother and his familyl were in town so I wanted him to meet my new family). It was very relaxed. Everyone had a great time. We left around midnight. And yes, Roly and I spent the night before the wedding together...come on, we've lived together for the past 4+ years and he was leaving in 20 days for SOI...:)
The next morning we woke up and had breakfast at 9am with my brother and his family. At 10am I headed back home to get my veil and tiara and left for the mall at 1030am. I had my hair done at 11am. They booked a private room just for me with wine, cheese, crackers and fruit. My sister (MOH) showed up around 1130am to watch me finish up with my hair and have hers done at 12noon. Once my hair was done (1230p), I walked down the little breezeway to Nordstrom's MAC counter to have my makeup done. I sat there for about 20 minutes because my artist was busy. The photographer arrived at that time and took some photos of the makeup and other stuff around. My makeup artist did my makeup and put on false eyelashes in record time...I think 40 minutes. I paid for the eyelashes and we took some shots in the mall. It's an open mall, so very pretty.
K. Got to my mom's house around 2p to get ready. Roly got ready at our apartment. I asked him to meet me at my mom's house at 230p to take preliminary portraits and ride up to the place together. (We were taking pics before the ceremony b/c sunset was at 530, same time as ceremony start, so pics before sunset are always prettier.) He got there at 230p on point, but I, of course, wasn't ready yet. My mom was lacing up my corset, and I was getting upset b/c I asked her to please do this before I got there so that it wouldn't take up too much time...oh well. I finished getting ready about 3p and the photographer set up "first time seeing eachother" shots in my mom's neighborhood. That was really nice. We finished with that around 315p and I was shocked that the car hadn't arrived. It was supposed to have arrived at 245p....I called my caterer (b/c she was coordinating this all). She screamed at someone and we got a Lincoln to pick up us (we were supposed to ride in an old Rolls, but am I glad we didn't. Apparently those old cars all smell like gas. So a 30 min ride...and we would've both smelled like a frickin' gas station..) We got to the Monastery around 415p (my original plan was 330p-430p at monastery to take portraits...). We took portraits, had some family arrive early to take portraits before as well. Finished with portraits around 520p...still had a few to get, but that was ok...it cut down on the after ceremony picture taking and gave us more time to enjoy the reception. The ceremony started late, maybe around 545p, because my bestest friends were running late and Roly asked if we could wait....grrr. hahahaha.
Ceremony started. It was beautiful. It finally hit me right before I walked down the aisle as well. hahaha. When my song started (Bendita Tu Luz, Mana) I started jamming and down the aisle we went. It was amazing. After the ceremony, the DJ played, I Feel Good by James Brown and the party was ON!!!
I made a detailed timeline before the day of the wedding for me and the parents and my sister. It pretty much worked out as planned, just got a little pushed back at the end....but it was awesome. OH and it went my SUPER FAST...I was like, it's 11p already??? That's okay though because we got our suitcases and hopped in the other Town Car that was waiting to take us to the Mandarin Oriental hotel for our honeymoon night!!!!
I LOVED theknot.com...have you checked it out???
