    Pairing bridesmaids w/groomsmen.

Does anyone know of any ideas or rules to follow when pairing bridesmaids with groomsmen?  I haven't even so much as thought about who I'm going to pair with who, but my girls keep asking me!!  We are having 7 & 7...so there are a lot of possibilities/options.

I wish I could help you with this! Our group was so mixed up! Best man was female, 2 Marines and my brother. I had 4 girls, but one was preggo and put on bed rest the day before. So here was how they walked:

    best man by HER self

    Matron of Honor and Marine

    Ryan's sister and Marine

My brothers girlfriend and my brother!

It looked funny, but worked out. I think generally how I have seen it is couples walk together, but I could be wrong. If i find anything in my books I will let you know!

I dont think there are any rules to follow really.  It's just kinda whoever you want to pair people up with.  We had 6 and 6.  4 of the guys were Marines. 2 werent.  So he made his best friend (non-Marine) from home be the best man. and we put a non-Marine first and last and all the Marines in their Blues in the middle.. just cuz it looked the nicest that way.  As far as who we paired them up with.. I just kinda tried to match them according to height haha.  I didnt wanna put the shortest girl with the tallest guy.

We had 6 & 6 too - Daniel and I had chosen friends to be our maid of honor and best man, so obviously we had those two paired together - ours went much like this.

    1-1 best man/maid of honor

    2-2 his brother/my sister

    3-3 friend/friend

    4-4 friend/friend

    5-5 his brother-in-law/his sister

    6-6 my brother/my sister-in-law

I TRIED to work mine so that everyone could be most comfortable, although nearly imposible because of the age differences with some of them.

Maid of Honor (college roommate- Andrea)-Best Man (Chris's brother that is 3 years younger than him)

Bridesmaid (college friend-Beth)- Groomsman (Chris's father)

Bridesmaid (another college friend - Karen)-Groomsman (Chris's youngest brother, who was 14 at the wedding)..definately the weirdest match

Bridesmaid (last college friend- Alison)-Groomsman (my best friend, Tim who I have known since we were 12)..I knew this would be the one my college friend would be most comfortable with

Jr Bridesmaid (Chris's cousin: Danay)- Jr Groomsman (my nephew: Michael)...the cutest match because his cousin is a year younger (but taller, lol) than my nephew.

i had 6 Marines. 3 Bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen. a flower girl and a ring boy. i had the Marines march out first and stand 3 on each side, then 3 girls and 3 guys walked out single file boy-girl-boy-girl. then the fg and rb walked out holding hands. then me. lol

Faith-I am getting so excited for you! I'm planning my wedding and all of your questions are the same things I've been wondering! WE should have a meeting to work all of this stuff out together!

As far as I know I haven't seen any rules for matching up the men and ladies. Obviously the Maid of Honor and Best Man...but after that it's whatever you want. However, my brother and sister in law are both in the wedding, so I put them together. If a wife/fiancee is in the wedding along with her hustband/fiance I would have them walk together if possible. Other than that draw names out of a hat if you want to make it easy!

I tried to do it by height! It worked out good to. Talklest to shortest.
