 Dave, let me know when you are in Portland, I have a few ammo cans you can have if you are in the area.  Or I can just bring them with.

Well if my bids go thru I will have plenty actually too many.

Top - if I can talk you out of one or two of those ammo cans, I would be most appreciative.

Well with gas prices climbing I may not bring any long guns.  Cause I will be on the Bike.

And Update is in order...

We are less than 60 days out from May 2 & 3 and, as of this moment, I only have two (2) reservations for our eight (8) rooms.  I hope - even with the skyrocketing gasoline prices - that more of you are planning on being here.  Cpl Raines brought his motor home last year and, in case you were not aware of it, we do have RV parking on site (power and water only though).  Kathy and I will try to take a more relaxed approach this year - we were thinking about just hamburgers/hotdogs or some kind of light fare for Saturday night.  If you would rather have something else, let me know. 

I talked with the Marine recruiter in Aberdeen today (Monday) and he is relatively new on site.  He gave me some posters.  Now - for Top - he (I apologize for not remembering his name but my CRS has been really bad lately) - he indicated that he knows the WM who has her photo on new recruiting posters.  I asked if he could get a signed copy for me to give to you - he said he would try.  I hope this makes for an "equal trade" for the ammo cans - that is presuming I get it.  Also, the recruiter told me that R. Lee Ermey's dad lives in Montesano and the R. Lee Ermey will be in Washington State all that month long.  Obviously, I extended an invitation to both the recruiter and, if he can swing it, to Ermey to stop by and visit.  If, and I realize this is a big IF, any of you have contact with/through Ermey - maybe you could kind of push the idea of him stopping here that weekend.  A heck of a long shot I know but you never know.

So...we are excited but now a little apprehensive - are we going to be able to pull this off?  Please call and let me know.  We both look forward to seeing all of you in May.

 I have had to send my regrets to our host.  I have been tasked to attend an Emergency Response exercise at Umitilla Army Depot (NE Oregon) that weekend.  I am very disappointed that I am going to miss our GriTogether.  If the kids and I make it up north for our summer camping trip this year, I will let you all know when and maybe we can get together then... Sorry guys....

 Sorry Sandy - as of now my trip to the east coast this year will be to Camp Lejeune in October.  Barb and I (an anyone else that cares to join us) are  going to honor our brothers on thier 25th anniversary of the Beruit bombing.

Where is the gritogether again? If no one minds i might drag my brother and sister out camping with me. My Marine will be in 29palms, but i would love to meet a few people!

Kacie - lord I hope I spelled that correctly.  As suggested, go to our web site  www.quinaultriverinn.com and that should give you a pretty good idea of what we are about.  I doubt that anyone would mind if you brought other folks along.  As far as camping, while you are more than welcome, please realize we do not have any shower or bathroom facilities.  You would be welcome to use our personal shower - or I could throw each of you n the river (which ever you would prefer) and bathroom.  Just not sure how that would work at 0200 hours with a stranger (yes, I have heard you are pretty strange...LOL) coming into my house - my vicious attack dog might try to lick you to death after scaring the hell out of me with her barking.

As I messaged Richard - the Target Pants are here at the inn.  I will keep them safely sealed until the weekend of the GriTogether.  And FYI, we still have five rooms available.

I will be there but due to circumstances beyond my control I will not arrive till LATE Friday night appx 23:00 +/-........

And I will have my various weapons with me as well.....
