    Gasoline Smell

I smelled gasoline in the house yesterday but it went away and I forgot about it. Today while I drove my car there was a strong gasoline odor. I put her in the garage and closed the door. In a while, I started getting sick and realized I could smell gas in the house, especially my room because the garage is on the other side of the wall. I put the car out on the driveway and left the garage door open to air it out. I don't see any gas anywhere. I'll take the car in for a check-up but what do ya'll suppose might be causing that smell? It's really strong.

    Re: Gasoline Smell

Since there is no gasoline on the floor ( is there? ) , it could be a cracked fuel line in the engine compartment. Not all that expensive to repair, but it is a dangerous situation.

Thanks, Mike! Turns out it has to do with the muffler....and the fuel tank thing is rusted also so it's going to be expensive to replace whatever they said needed replacing. The first figure was $400 bucks, after that I was in a coma. Crying

Got to ask what are you driving Year, make, model.  Cause anything near new should not rust out.  Emission devices are covered by an extended warranty longer than the rest of the car.  If the fuel tank is leaking and it is near another thing like a vacuum lines to the tank that could also be covered.

PS e-mail me with the info that way I can do a little research.

See My jeep was a 94 a couple of months ago the Catalytic converter went bad.  Just a couple of weeks ago I found out It could have been covered by Warranty.

Grumpy Gunny....it's my old 90 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. Turns out they fixed her for around 40 BUCKS and she's peppier than ever!  I just can't give her up. Color is black cherry with white interior...is that a girl's car or what? I had the white top replaced with tan and took off the pin striping. GREAT for sunny fall days! Thanks for your help.
