My name is Keith Aher and I am an Irish citizen. i am 18years of age, finished school and will hopefully get my gym instruction diploma this june. i also work for an event security company (who are also contract security and who have just returned from baghdad last february) and will be completing a side arm and assault rifle course in geneva this september. for the past 8years, or as long as i can remember, the only thing that i have been interested in, had a passion for or longed to do was to become a United States Marine. but, not being a US citizen, this has caused some problems for me. this will be my second year applying for the green card so my fingers are crossed, but if i do not get it, i have to have a back up plan. i have a heard from an active duty captain in the marines serving in iraq and an ex navy personnel (both friends through family/work) that if i were to travel to the states and visit a recruiter that it is possible they will sign me up if they are short recruiting figures?? i have also been told to apply to a US college and get a visa for education purposes (which allows me 4years legally in america) and use this to enlist?? i really need some help with this Staff Sargeant. if i do not get the green card, is there any other way in? all my life i have dreamed about being a small part of the USMC, and i am not even close to giving up on it yet. i would do anything to get in. thank you for reading this and any help you may give.
