    It's Army
America is not at war, the Marine Corps is at war. America is at the mall.

Yup! and the 1st Cav "First Team" is a separate Division, from the 2d Armored Division "Hell On Wheels".

Why do you think the two divisions are combined on one shirt? Is there a relationship or is it coincidental?

Can you help identify the age of when it was worn? Somebody told me the buttons were a good indicator.

And the words "Sam" and "GTO", do those mean anything other than the persons name and his ??? favorite car ???

It is a green Fatgue shirt from the 50's to late 60's.  The sleeves have no cuffs and buttons, which came out in the 70's.  The person was probably in the 1st Cav, but liked the motto of the 2d Armored Div.  There is no name tape or US ARMY tape sewn above the chest pockets, and to have the his first name and GTO embroidered on the shirt, means it wasn't worn on active duty.

Iron the shirt and sell it on the Rodder or 4x4 sights, I'm sure a former Cav or Armor guy will want it!

    Mr Miller

I found it in a pile of clothing at a flea market and felt it had to be rescued before it was stepped on, discarded.

where would I find the two websites you mentioned? I think it would look cool in a musuem, like the guys sitting around off duty at a local club, with their custom made shirts.

the photo link is supposed to take you to the specific file which shows only the photos of the item discussed.

the new yahoo photo storage system still has some flaws and so it may send you to the photo homepage in which case

you just click on the photo file on the left.
