Flag [MCFG] What a GREAT day!! Photos...

This morning Chris, Lauren, Faith and I made our way up to DC to spend some time with Larry. It was such an honor to be there and to have Chris particpate in the ceremony. It was where we wanted to be and we really enjoyed the time we had at the wall today.  Our Ball followed this evening. It was a great time. I am very worn out and even started to have some tummy pains so I am glad to be home to have my feet up. We also got to meet some of the Grit family...that was an extra to a great day.

    Renee'

Yesterday was the best day for us at the Wall.  John R (carrying the wreath) said that when I yelled "Make a hole" it was like the Red Sea opened up and everyone got out of the way.  What was really amazing, that Mark Kessler (Redskins stadium announcer and voice of the Young Marines) was in step with Chris & John - and he never served a day - but his dad was a Marine.  Must have rubbed off on him.  Big Steve and his band of pipers showed up right when we started - the particpants down at the Wall said they were amazed when the bugler started playing "Amazing Grace" lol

The TV crew that filmed the cake cutting with Chris, LtCol Johnson and the 8 year old Young Marine was from Texas.  Maybe some of your kinfolk can see it and tape it.  Have Chris check his vm as we had a young 2ndLt that said he went to SIU with Chris and he left a vm from my cell phone.  He is at TBS  and will be there for another 3 months.  Hope you can catch up with him.

You look very lovely in you LBD, you guys are such a great couple.  Really enjoyed ya'll being there.

I was asking Chris about the young Marine and if he was scared to talk. I guess Chris made him nervous...lol

Last night the youngest was born in 1984 and enlisted in 2005. Crazy isn't it!

Pammie and Velcro were great helping me with the girls and that heavy bag. Again, we were so very happy to be there. We were able to reflect on the men that we lost and on the way home we had a really great converstaion. I will tell Chris to check his VM.

Anytime we can hear from you, Miss Renee, we are thrilled. Y'all look wonderful! The little gals are growing.

You don't tire yourself out, you hear? Don't do too much, and when you get a chance to put your feet up, DO IT. That's an order from your Grit's Family Gals.

I wish we civilians got an opportunity to meet up with Mr. Zok, and all the Gritsters we admire so much. What you all did is appreciated by all the rest of us. What a beautiful thing it must be, to be able to help honor so many, to whom we owe so much. God bless our heroes and those who love them.

And Mr. Kessler (the senior) is a WONDERFUL man - his dedication to the Young Marines just thrills those of us who have had the privilege to know him. Every time we got to go to a National Staff workshop, he and Mr. White just put us in awe. I miss working with the Young Marines so much!

Thank you for the photos and the updates. Any post from y'all puts a huge grin on this old broad's face!

The gang all looks so terrific and you are beautiful!! The little gals are just too cute!! I swear, Renee, that Marine of yours cuts a mighty fine figure in his Dress Blues, too. Chris was right about that weather update he gave, looks like it couldn't have been a nicer day. Love all those wonderful smiles...thanks so much for the photos. Thanks so much for all our Marines past and present. You get plenty of rest, now.

    Renee

Put them under events.  Start with Lauren & Faith, state who they are.  Just say what you think is going on.  Guys getting ready to march to the Wall.  John, Chris & Mark presenting the wreath.  Just whatever you want to say.  I will go back in and add to whatever you say cause having you guys there meant the world to my guys.  Mark Kessler said it was the best event yet - and he has been helping us now for over 5 years.
