    Re: Chicken and Dumplings

I boil chicken till it's falling apart with whatever seasonings you like. I use garlic salt, pepper, and a couple chicken bouillion cubes. After the chicken is done, in the same water it's been boiled in I drop dough while the water is still boiling or almost boiling. For the dough I use flour and water with a little salt and pepper.  I don't have measurements but I mix the dough and water till it's really thick and gooey, I then drop teaspoon sized boils in the water with the chicken and they cook up, when they are done the start to float.

I doubt that makes any sense at all. Sorry.

    Re: Chicken and Dumplings

hehehehe.. I totally know this is an old post (Over a year!) but I just made C&D for dinner tonight. It is such an easy recipe. I am a total easy cooking enthusiast!

    Ingredients:

    3-4 lb thawed chicken

    3-4 cans of store biscuits

    3-4 chicken bouillion cubes

     To COOK:

Put a whole (fryer) chicken in a big stock pot and add water until it covers the chicken. Add the cubes of chicken bouillion.

boil until cooked - skim fat from the water - take out chicken to cool.

there are two ways to do the biscuits - you can roll 'em flat and use a pizza cutter to slice (using flour and wax paper so they dont stick) or you can just pinch off globs of the bicuits and toss them in the water.

Pick the chicken (I'm from the South Big Smile ) and add the de boned chicken back into your pot.

Add your biscuit dumplings. continue cooking on a low heat so they dont stick to the bottom. It should take around 30 mins or so to cook. If your broth part is too runny add a little bit of flour and stir it in.

    MMMHhhhhhh so good!

It doesn't get any better than this!
