    RE: Deployment Care Package Suggestions

Packing List Batteries– AA and AAA (Better yet, re-chargable AA and AAA batteries with a charger! Initially kind of expensive, but you can get them at WalMart and Radio Shack!) Beef Jerky (Better yet, purchase a food dehydrator, and make your own home made jerky, especially, if you can get some venision, (not hard, deer hunters give it away) and spice it up with crushed red pepper, cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes) Store bought jerky is like $15 a pound) Board Games (Go to Toys are us, and get the multi-games in one, about the size of an average book! They have checkers, chess, cribbige, backgammon. But, also send extra deck of cards.) Hoyle's guide to games! Has every card game you ever wanted to play! Canned Chili (Espeically the new Campbell's new chunky varieties) Cereal (Get one of those plastic ceral containers from WalMart, to put them in! They last longer, and stay fresher!) Cigars (Espeically the better ones, consult your local duty expert! But they cost! But just one good cigar a year!) Fast Break Black and Milds are good! Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, Tabasco sauce, A-1, Heinz 57, Horseradish Sauce, Digion mustard) Dice (Don't forget poker dice) Dinty Moore Beef Stew (Check out the new line of Dinty Moores mini entree's) Gold bond powder (And Gold Bond's Medicated Cream - you'd have to be a guy to understand) Granola bars (Better if homemade! Not hard to do!) Instant Coffee ( A French Coffee Press is even better!!!!) Magazines (Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Discovery, Military History, Solider of Fortune, BASS, National Geographic, Leatherneck) Newspapers (Espeically, Hometown papers! Pepperoni (With wheat crackers and cheese or canned cheese) Playing cards (Lots of these!) Seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic/onion powder, Cajun spices, etc.) (Go to the camping section at WalMart, they sell the ones that has all of these in one container) Sewing Kit ( A really, really good one!) Smokeless Tobacco (The kind that has the cardboard bottom, not the plastic bottom!) Vienna Sausages Little Parrie Oil Sasuage Crackers Smoked Oysters Fish Steaks with peppers Kimpperd Snacks Sardines Taken from the Wives Forum. Ann

Does he mean men's mags like Car & Driver? I have a few of those and some gaming mags that didn't make it to Jason before he left. They may be a few months out of date.
