    No cell phones in NC?

Has anyone heard that you aren't allowed to talk on your cell phones while driving in NC...that it is a $100 fine??? My husband said that was what he was told...just checking to see if anyone else had heard this.

Ryan said that he heard this too several months ago, but I haven't been able to find anyone else who has heard it. Ryan says its a law now. I sure would like to know since I talk on my cell all the time!

Like 2 years ago i heard they made that a law for every state but obvioulsy that wasnt true. All i know is you cant talk on phones while driving on base but other than that i havent heard, although i do think if they made something like that a law they would do a better job of informing the public, hopefully, but you never know. It IS North Carolina!

That is SO true. Yeah I know you aren't allowed to talk on your cell phone on base but he meant that you weren't allowed to talk on it in general...hmmm..I'll have to find out who he heard this from.

I have ever heard that about Washington, but I don't think its quite true, maybe something in the works, the only thing I know for SURE is that its against the law in New York City, and as far as I know that's the only place. My uncle lives in New Jersey and he got a ticket while in New York!

No that is NOT true. LOL I did some research on that online one day. B/c my husband was talking on the phone while driving and some guy in the car with him said that he couldn't. So I looked it up and found a site that had the cell phone driving laws in every state. You can talk on the phone while driving. You just can't talk on the phone while driving on base.

Yes Lori, you can use hands free and it's legal. Like Barb said, in the STATE of NC, it's legal to talk and drive while on the phone, but on base it's legal. It's great to have an ear piece no matter what though, they are awesome and SOO much safer NO MATTER where you are! [:)]
